Saddest profile ever! discovered by Penny

On OkCupid, there are these "Ice Breakers" where OKC encourages you to send a message to someone they feel is a good match for you. They don't show you the profile until after you send a message and that person writes you back - so I figured, why not just go for it.

So I had this Ice Breaker that said "We found someone who also likes Nick Hornby. He's between the ages of 26 and 32 and lives near you!" So I wrote a little message about Nick Hornby and sent it out hoping for a luv connection.

Well, OkCupid apparently sent my message to at least 4 guys who list Nick Hornby as a favorite! OkCupid realizes that online dating is a numbers game...

So one guy who wrote me back said something about having given up on OkCupid, and that's why his profile is blank... I click on it, and this is all it says...

"Pretty much given up on OKC. Sorry, but it doesn't seem like a good use of time to be throwing messages in bottles out into the ocean and hoping for responses that never come."

    Also, it just goes to show his lack of faith turned out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. I bet he wouldn't have ever anticipated a cute girl who likes Nick Hornby would ever write him out of the blue. You just have to have patience and also a little faith in life! And fair enough, maybe it's not Ok Cupid...but it could be. Who knows!
